1. The controlled area comprises hall 170, attached building 197 (2 levels) and building 115
2. Entrance for persons from lower level (parking) via power supply house through a small dedicated area between the 2 door openings with the following equipment and procedures:
- a turnstile (height about 1.80m) large enough that a person can carry a small tool box
- card reader (reads CERN card and/or film badge)
- hand/foot monitor and hand wash bassin inside near turnstile
- all equipment connected to the CERN site control
- entrance condition: authorised persons only, card reader registers names, date etc, turnstile opens for one person at a time, as option: screen displays the last 30 entries
- exit condition: through turnstile, push button, one person at a time,
- exit NOT linked to radiation/contamination monitor
3. Entrance for medium size equipment from lower level through a remotely controlled door at the side of the
turnstile. The following procedures would be applied:
- person enters through turnstile and calls CERN site control from inside the zone
- CERN site control checks identity and purpose and enables door opening (or opens and closes door remotely)
- removal of material under the responsibility of person requesting opening of the door, possibly after checking by RP
- door equipped for emergency exit
4. Entrance for big equipment from lower level through the sas and the sliding door
- the sas rests outside the controlled area
- a restricted number of people is authorised to open the door
- the person requesting opening takes responsibility to survey all movements through the door
- transport of goods out of hall 170 only after checking by RP
5. Entrance for persons from upper level via building 601 (door to be created at Lausanne end of building 601)
and a small dedicated area to be built in the space between buildings 601 and 115
- building 601 rests outside the controlled area
- equipment like under point 2 and linked with it
6. Entrance for big material (cars etc) at upper level
- large gate surveyed and remotely operated by CERN site control after identification of persons
7. It seems to be useful to know the number of persons present at any time
